This policy explains what personal information Kinship London collects, why, how it's used, and what rights you have over it. It's written in plain language on purpose — if anything here isn't clear, just email us at kinshiplondon@gmail.com and we'll explain further.
Kinship London is a curated social events community based in London, run by Christianah Afeniforo as a sole trader. For the purposes of data protection law, Christianah Afeniforo is the "data controller" responsible for your personal information.
We're registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), registration reference C2023302.
We collect information you give us directly when you:
We also collect anonymous, aggregate visit data through Cloudflare Web Analytics (a cookieless analytics tool) — this tells us things like how many people visited the site and which pages are popular, but it can't identify you individually.
We use your information to:
Where we're fulfilling a booking, our legal basis is contract — we need your details to actually deliver the event you've reserved a space at. Where you've joined a waitlist without booking anything yet, our basis is your consent — you can withdraw this at any time by asking us to remove your details.
We don't sell your information, and we don't share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. To actually run Kinship London, we use a small number of trusted service providers who process data on our behalf:
These providers only ever process your data to help us run Kinship London — none of them are permitted to use it for their own purposes.
A note on international data transfers: Some of the services above (Netlify, Zapier, Google) are based in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, appropriate legal safeguards apply. We keep this under regular review as Kinship London grows.
We take photos during Kinship London events for use on our Instagram and website. If you'd rather not be included, just let us know beforehand or on the day and we'll make sure you're not tagged or featured.
We keep booking-related information for as long as necessary to deliver the event, and afterward for our tax and accounting obligations — typically up to 6 years, in line with UK record-keeping requirements for sole traders. If you're on a waitlist and never book, or ask us to delete your details earlier, we'll remove what we can, while keeping only what we're legally required to retain.
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
To exercise any of these, just message us on WhatsApp or email kinshiplondon@gmail.com.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your personal information, you can raise this with us directly by emailing kinshiplondon@gmail.com with "Data Protection Complaint" in the subject line. We'll acknowledge your complaint within 30 days.
You also have the right to complain directly to the ICO at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, though we'd always appreciate the chance to resolve things directly first.
Kinship London's website doesn't use tracking cookies. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless by design and can't identify individual visitors — so there's no cookie banner because there's nothing here to consent to.
We may update this policy from time to time as Kinship London grows. The date at the top will always show when it was last changed.
